I spent this weekend fixing a computer that belonged to a friend of mine whose daughters had a field day downloading shit on it.
When I ran the initial virus scan, it came up with 70 viruses and 58 pieces of spyware on the initial spyware scan. I thought that it would be done, right? WRONG!!
When I rebooted the computer after the scans, it started blue screening and shit. Called the owner and asked if she wanted me to save any files on it. She said no (made my life easier) and I blew everything out.
Tonight, the computer is finished and I plan to have a chat with its owner about making sure that everything is updated as well as basic security.

 true, but then you end up with a clean install, which is usually needed, anyway.

Exactly.
Now, I am working with the owner to do the following:
a) Upgrade the RAM to 2 GB b) Install a larger HD for storing shit c) Install a DVD-RW with LightScribe
